Hello ,
I tried to encrypt my Windows 10 installation C: Drive
I Went to :
manage bitlocker > turn on bitlocker on c: drive > saved my recovery key to USB > it required me to restart > on boot for some reason it asked me to put the recovery key -- it didn't complete the encryption prosses
Keep in mind the drive isn't encrypted yet ( at least that what i think so ) also bitlocker didn't ask me to create a password for the drive
anyway in my .TXT file the identifier did match the Drive KEY ID but when I put the recovery key it didn't work -
I was stuck in a loop
- Booting Windows
- Bitlocker Asks For The Recovery Key
- I Type The Key
- Windows Restart
and it's keeps going over and over
I Installed Other Windows 10 on separate Drive and booted from it
after install i booted into the other windows now -> I Clicked on the locked drive and bitloacker recovery key popup telling me to enter the recovery key , so i did, but this time a error showed up "The key doesn't match the drive" HOW ?
my question isWHY my recovery key isn't working ? even though BitLocker Recovery Key.TXT MATCH with the identifier value displayed on my drive ?
Is it possible that somthing wen't wrong during the prosses that Bitlocker contents KEY'S to open the drive got corrupted because I tried to encrypt a SSD Windows ?
EDIT :
My Drive isn't encrypted only the first sectors are For more info HERE a another question i asked
